If a client is on a lower OS, then they should be updated to at least Mojave. The minimum macOS for Office 365/2019 is 10.14 (Mojave). UCSC clients should update to the latest version Office 365/2019. Microsoft retired Office for the Mac 2016 in October 2020. Endpoint Engineering will begin to uninstall the retired version and in Feb. UCSC clients should update to a more current version (Acrobat 2017 or 2020). These versions of Acrobat and Acrobat Reader retired in July of 2020. If a client has a business reason to use it, please forward their request as a ticket to EE.
ITS techs should uninstall Flash Player on sight at this point. Endpoint Engineering will begin to uninstall Flash Player from UCSC client computers in Feb. Adobe is blocking Flash content from playing in Flash Player starting January 12th, 2021. Other open standards, such as HTML5 and WebGL have matured and serve as a viable replacement for Flash.

When requested by UCSC clients, technical staff should install the latest supported version. Unsupported software, by UC security policy, needs to be removed from UC computers. This means they will no longer receive security vendor updates. This is a list of several applications that have retired and will be unsupported by their vendor.
